meet the team

OWNER/MANAGING DIRECTOR

GAVIN DENNING

I have been a coaching for the last 11 years and have always been passionate about sport and fitness my whole life. I played senior rugby for around 15 years for various local teams in Bedfordshire, so have always trained myself to a high level.

I have gained vital experience in my years as a coach and know exactly what is needed to make my clients strong, lean and healthy. Seeing them transform their bodies, mindset and lifestyle really inspires and motivates me to do better. Watching the transformation of our clients first hand really is the best part of my job, and is what still keeps me motivated to get out of bed before 6am!

This passion for client results has been continued into the Corporate Wellness world and we now get to help people on a much larger scale.

We have been working with various businesses for the last 4 years and myself and my Team are extremely passionate about improving the Health and Wellbeing of the companies we work with. Our aim is to impact as many companies as we can and show them how to live a healthy lifestyle and regain the Work/Life balance in an incredibly demanding world.

HEAD COACH

JOE MURPHY

Sport and fitness has been a significant part of my life since the age of 6. I have been a qualified personal trainer for the past 7 years and I have played rugby at a semi-professional level, as well as competing in a variety of other sports. I am also head coach of an elite level rugby 7’s team.

I also spent 2 years working with the largest gym equipment manufacturer in Europe, looking after healthcare and education sector customers in London and the South-East. This experience has given me a much greater understanding of the limitations and problems that exist for business men and women trying to stay fit and healthy whilst on the road or in the office all day.

I have a degree in Sport & Exercise Science, and I am also a published research author, after working on a nutrition research study on Ironman triathletes. We took an exploratory look into the effect of probiotics on gut health and race performance in recreational athletes.

All of my previous experience, combined with my determination to see clients reach their health and fitness goals and become healthier, happier and more confident people, means I am delighted to be working with GWD Performance.

COACH

RYAN HEALY

From a young age I’ve always had a strong interest in sport. I started to play rugby at the age of 12, since then I’ve played for a number of teams over the years, as well as a few outings in the 7’s format. This interest in sport led me into the gym which at the age of 15.

I have a Degree in Sports Strength & Conditioning BSc from the University of Gloucestershire. I have worked in several sports at university level and beyond including, Academy S&C at Cheltenham Town FC, Head S&C/Technical Sprint coach of Uni of Gloucester Athletics team, Head S&C coach of Uni of Gloucester Woman’s Netball team and Assistant S&C at The Crypt school in Gloucester under Ed Archer.

Post university I also had the opportunity to work with the Bedford Blues for a season through an internship as an S&C coach. This only furthered my knowledge in an elite sporting environment.

My own training is a high priority of mine and I take it very seriously. This then translates over to my love for coaching. Seeing others reach their goals and being a part of that process is extremely rewarding to me, I will always do my best assist in these goals & help clients on their health & fitness journeys.

Client Relationship Manager

PIPPA

I have had a keen interest in sport from a young age, representing my high school in athletics, gymnastics and hockey. I have a BSc (hons) degree in Clinical Science which led me to my 20 year career as a Senior Audiologist with the NHS. Within this role I was supervisor to students, planning, monitoring and organising their timetables and training.

I have also had 20 + years experience in children and youth work, running clubs, camps and organising large events. I am in my element researching, planning and organising and this led me to working for GWD Performance in an admin role and eventually as Client relationship Manager.

I am a mum of 3 children, 2 of which my husband and I adopted in 2012. The adoption started me on an enlightening journey into writing and in 2013 I published my first book – ‘double blessing – our journey through adoption’. One of my proudest achievements! I have a very full and varied life, I love all my different roles – being a mum and wife, going to the gym, eating out at restaurants with friends, speaking and sharing my experiences of adoption.

My role with GWD enables me to carry on my passion for organising and planning and meeting new people. I really enjoy being part of such a great team, with so much expertise in their field. I am learning from them every day!
